Editorial Policy

The Ledbetter Journal is a conservative publication and makes no pretense of straddling the fence or laying claim to centrism.

We are committed to protecting the rights of the American citizen, and providing relevant news and insightful commentary to the general public. We firmly see it as our public duty to offer fresh analysis and original commentary on current events.

We believe the institution of the American Press is now entering into dangerous territory, as Silicon Valley has effectively been leveraged by a political party to silence its opponents.

This is precisely the type of despotic overreach our Founders had feared after they forged this country in the flames of revolution. They established in the First Amendment to the Constitution, highlighting how important they came to view this principle: 

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” 

Abridge: to deprive of, to curtail, to cut short.

As Americans, and specifically as conservatives, we have certainly experienced our once-honored First Amendment rights now being abridged; deprived, curtailed, and cut short. Over the previous five years, our political ideology has been vehemently mislabeled by the megaphonic bulwark of the Democrat media infrastructure as “racist, fascist, Nazi” and any other pernicious narrative they could drum up. The result has been a malignancy. The mainstream media are effectively a multinational conglomerate, built on the sweaty, corrupt back of the bureaucracy. The media have shown themselves as globalists, internationalists, and have consistently placed the essential needs of foreign entities over that of American, domestic entities. The media has chosen its side, aligning themselves with the bureaucracy, and the political establishment. 

This site is a direct, measured response to the tyrannical overreach that is– quite literally –presently threatening our civil liberties, our First Amendment right to speak freely. We must do our part to secure our Constitutional rights in each successive generation, that is the simple yet strenuous task of maintaining a vital Republic. 

Ronald Reagan, our 40th President, famously once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

The Ledbetter Journal is a conservative publication and will remain open to its readers about its political stance. We are Constitutional originalists. We are subjective and we are aware of our bias. We seek to preserve the integrity of the press as it was originally envisioned by our Founders. We see it as our noble undertaking to provide relevant information and useful commentary to our fellow citizens.
